Farmington Fire Chief On Firefighter’s Death

(Farmington) A firefighter from the West Peculiar Fire Protection District was killed over the weekend while fighting a house fire. Farmington Fire Chief Todd Mecey says when something like this happens, it catches everyone’s attention.

NIOSH is the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Chuck McCormick was one of the first firefights to enter the home Sunday. Fire officials say injuries were caused when a floor collapsed under those firefighters. McCormick fell into the basement and suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital, but doctors weren’t able to save his life.
