The Farmington Knights football team will continue their postseason run with a rematch against the Poplar Bluff Mules. Farmington led 14- at halftime of that game, but injuries to quarterback Brett Drye opened the door for the Mules to score 21 unanswered. Knights head coach Erik Kruppe recalls the earlier meeting, which took place on October 6th.
David Seavers is the head coach at Poplar Bluff. He mentions some of the things the Knights did well during their previous battle.
Poplar Bluff had a four game win streak in the end of the regular season, but their most recent game was a loss Hillsboro. The Mules had a first round bye, but they might be missing some momentum. On the other hand, Farmington picked up an overtime win at Webster Groves last week, and the Knights have seemingly heated back up. Coach Kruppe knows his team got a win against a quality team last week, and knows they’ll see another one this week.
Seavers says his team needs to be fast and disciplined to have a chance to win.
The Farmington Knights take on the Poplar Bluff Mules for the right to advance to the Class 5, District 1 Championship. The game will be broadcast on AM-800 KREI and J-98 at 7 on Friday evening.
