Farmington Football Upsets Top-Seeded Poplar Bluff in District Semifinals
The Farmington Knights football team stunned the top-seeded Poplar Bluff Mules 28-21 in the Class 5 District 1 Semifinals. The game started as both teams came up empty in the red zone, and it took a big special teams play to give Farmington an early lead.

The Mules answered back on a touchdown pass from Jay Edmondson to Romeoh Wontour, which tied the game.

A big return gave the Knights great field position in the second half, and the Knights were able to punch another one in.

The Mules scored late in the game, but it was not enough to mount the comeback. Poplar Bluff head coach David Sievers said his team got outplayed.

Farmington head coach Erik Kruppe says his team made every snap count.

Poplar Bluff ends the season with a 5-5 record. Farmington improves to 6-5 on the year and has a chance to win a District Championship against Cape Central next Friday.
