Farmington Group Works To Feed Local Teachers

(Farmington) A group of Farmington residents are putting on a barbecue lunch on March 5th to benefit their Living Well Project, which involves helping to drill a well in Kenya to help people there. Ashley Grindstaff is part of that group. She says they decided to take it one step further this week, starting a drive on Facebook to feed the teachers and staff in the Farmington School District that day. She says they’re going to be able to feed a lot of people through this barbecue.

Grindstaff says she wasn’t sure what to expect when they suggested they buy the teachers lunch, but it turned out to be overwhelming.

Grindstaff says they raised over 36 hundred dollars to help feed the teachers and staff at the Farmington Schools. The barbecue itself is open to the public and will take place March 5th from 11 until 3 at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Farmington. All proceeds will go help fund the digging of a well in rural Kenya.
