(Farmington) The organizer of the Help the Hungry Bake Sale in Farmington was honored last (thursday) night with a special proclamation from the mayor of Farmington. This was the year the bake sale passed the million dollar mark in money raised for the food pantries in Farmington. Chris Landrum says she’s humbled by the award, but prefers to give the credit to the committee she works with.

Pastor Greg Robinson with the First Baptist Church is the president of the Farmington Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry board of directors. He says the work done by the Help the Hungry committee is saving lives.

Just last month, the committee was able to present checks of $69,000 to the two food pantries in Farmington through the Help the Hungry Bake Sale. This was year number 17 for the annual fundraiser.
