(FARMINGTON) – The Farmington Knights softball team gets a chance to host its district tournament this week and will begin play Wednesday against the Poplar Bluff Mules. After a slow start to the fall, Farmington showed great improvement finishing with an 18-8 overall record and the #3 seed in the district. Knights coach Bryan Wallen said the team’s hitting has been the biggest area of growth.

Farmington beat Poplar Bluff 15-9 in the regular season on Sept. 23. Even though the Mules are the bottom seed at 6-20, Wallen said they can be resilient.

The winner will move on to face second-seeded Northwest in the semifinals Thursday. Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening on AM-800 KREI.
