Farmington Hosts Perryville in First Round of C4D1 on KREI

(Farmington) Counting tonight Farmington and Perryville will have played each other in the first round of the state football playoffs five out of the last eight years. The Knights have won the previous four with an average score of 49-8. No one knows what the score will be tonight, but Pirates coach Brent Roth has seen his 3-6 team improve this year…

Coach Roth says you have to be able to withstand a physical beating to compete with the Knights…

Farmington also comes in at 3-6 and coach Erik Kruppe says that the Pirates can also play some power football…

Farmington features Sophomore fullback Kaesen McClain, who has rushed for over 1000 yards this year, while Perryville Seniors Alex Sanders and Ben Hotop have combined for over 1100.

Both coaches say that their teams come in with good spirits and continue to work hard to prepare for the postseason. Farmington hasn’t sufferred a losing season since 2014. With a young team the Knights have lost several close games this year, but coach Kruppe says they keep bouncing back…

Perryville has enjoyed only one winning season since 1998. That was in 2017.
