Farmington Keeps Festus at Bay in Volleyball Home Opener on KREI

(Farmington) Volleyball returned on AM 800 KREI tonight as the Farmington Knights took down the visiting Festus Tigers in straight sets 25-22 and 25-16. Set number one was all Knights for the first half, but Festus went on a run to take a one point lead 21-20. The Knights took a much needed timeout and went on a run to win the set.

Grace Duncan finished with four kills on the night. Jade Roth was our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game and she put the Tigers to rest in set number two as she finished with six kills and five blocks with two of those being solo stuffs. However, it was senior Sophia Pullen with back to back aces to finish off the night.

Farmington head coach Haley Baker says when her team was faced with adversity in tonight’s match she just had to remind them how good they were.

The Knights move to 1-1 on the season and will play Hillsboro on Tuesday while the Tigers fall to 0-2 and will travel to Valle Catholic on Tuesday.
