Farmington man sentenced for child molestation

A Farmington man is heading to prison for child molestation.

53-year-old Danny Ray Schoonover was charged with stautory sodomy and child molestation in October and was sentenced last month by Circuit Judge Wendy Wexler Horn.

Schoonover will serve separate sentences concurrently for incidents in 2016 when he performed sexual acts on an 8-year-old girl.

Schoonover was caring for the girl at a family member’s house when he undressed her while she was asleep and touched her.

Schoonover also touched the girl while driving at truck.

Schoonover has indicated he will file an appeal.

He is currently starting his 25-year stay in prison.
