Farmington Marches to 6-0 with 31-28 Win at Poplar Bluff

(Poplar Bluff) A shootout in the first half turned into a grinder in the second half as Farmington escaped Poplar Bluff with a 31-28 win on AM 800 KREI. Brady Cook ran for two 38 yard touchdowns and 82 yards in the first half in helping Farmington to keep just ahead of Bluff….

The Knights scored with 57 seconds left in the first half to go on top 28-14, but the Mules found the endzone only 52 seconds later to make it a one score game at the break. Farmington rolled up 275 first half rushing yards and Bluff wasn’t far behind with 241 total yards.

Defenses adjusted at the half and didn’t allow any scoring in the third quarter. Kael Krause provided the only second half score for the Knights with a 30 yard field goal, but Poplar Bluff made it a three point game with 7:07 left.

Farmington ran the entire 7:07 off the clock to preserve the win thanks in part to a clutch third and 13 first down gain…

Brayden Bodkin topped 200 yards rushing for the third time in the last four games with 201 yards on 28 carries.

Farmington improves to 6-0 for the first time since 2007. Poplar Bluff falls to 3-2. Farmington plays at Jackson for the SEMO North title on KREI.
