(FARMINGTON) – In boys soccer action Wednesday night on KREI, the Farmington Knights grabbed an exciting 3-2 win against the Perryville Pirates. The Pirates were first on the scoreboard with a goal from Riley Hagan just before halftime, but the Knights’ Max Reid quickly found a goal of his own early in the second half. Then, after a red card to Farmington goalkeeper Chad Silvey, the Pirates had a chance to take the lead off a corner kick.

Not long afterward, Farmington’s leading scorer Bryce Sancegraw found an answer.

The Knights built off of that momentum, with former Pirate Cole Gerstenberger grabbing the game-winner off a long throw-in.

Knights head coach Addae Rique said his team responded well after going down a man.

Farmington improved its record to 11-3 and will host Poplar Bluff on Tuesday. Perryville dropped to 11-9 overall and will return home to face Fredericktown on Monday.
