Farmington Softball In The State Quarterfinals On KREI This Thursday

(Farmington) The Farmington Knights softball team continues their quest for a state championship Thursday evening in the Class 4 State Quarterfinals against the Washington Blue Jays on AM-800 KREI. The Knights are the second-ranked team in Class 4 and the Blue Jays are ranked third. Farmington coach Bryan Wallen tells us what he knows about Washington.

Washington’s really good pitcher is Taylor Brown. The Blue Jays sophomore has a 1.44 earned-run-average and 220 strikeouts through 111 innings pitched. But Wallen believes the recent pitching the Knights have faced has prepared them for this game.

As for who will be in the circle for Farmington, Wallen has a couple of options. He could go with senior Courtney Swink, who leads the team in strikeouts with 103 on the year, or freshman Elly Robbins who leads the team in innings pitched with 103.

The 30-6 Farmington Knights take on the 29-5 Washington Blue Jays Thursday evening at 5 on KREI. The Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show will start at 4:45.
