Farmington Softball Travels to Imperial to take on Webster Groves for the Class 4 Quarterfinals on KREI

(Imperial) The Farmington Knights softball team begins the state tournament this afternoon as they head up to Imperial and Winsor High School to take on the Webster Groves Statesmen in the Class 4 Quarterfinals on KREI.

These two teams have no previous matchups in recent years, but both teams do come in with varying experience in the playoffs.

Webster Groves, at 13-2 on the year, just won their third straight district championship.

They are also coming off a 2019 season in which they won sectionals before falling in the quarterfinals to the Northwest Lions.

Farmington head coach Bryan Wallen breaks down what he knows about the Statesmen.

The Knights enter this game at 20-11 on the season and just won their first district championship since 2014 after a 5-2 come-from-behind victory over the Hillsboro Hawks.

Wallen says the key for them against Webster Groves will be the fundamentals.

Coverage of the Class 4 Softball Quarterfinals between the Farmington and Webster Groves begins at 4:00 on AM 800 KREI.
