(FARMINGTON, Mo.) – The Farmington Knights volleyball team earned their fourth-straight victory Thursday night, topping the Ste. Genevieve Dragons in three sets, 28-26, 16-25, 25-17 on KREI.
The opening set saw the Dragons with four opportunities at set point, but the Knights denied every single one of them.
Eventually, with the score 27-26, Farmington got a set point chance of their own.
Set two began close but the Dragons started to take over as the second progressed on.
This long rally winner with the score 20-16 propelled Ste. Gen to eventually tie the match.
The set ended at 25-16 Ste. Gen, but Farmington would strike back in the third, led by freshman middle blocker and Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game, Jade Roth.
The Knights would take the third and final frame by a score of 25-17 to earn the win.
Looking back at the drama of set one, head coach of Farmington Haley Baker says they practice similar come-from-behind efforts quite a bit.
Farmington is now 7-11-3 and will go for a 5 match winning streak on Monday at Jackson.
Ste. Genevieve drops to 3-8-3 and hosts Bismarck on Monday evening.
