Farmington Volleyball Looking For Another Strong Season

(Farmington) The Farmington High School volleyball team defeated a talented Cape Notre Dame squad in straight sets (26-24, 25-16, 25-23) at the Black Knight Fieldhouse Tuesday night. Knights coach Haley Baker says it was a good defensive effort from her team.

That was Farmington’s first non-tournament game of the season. The Knights were at the MICDS Tournament last weekend and faced some stiff competition, picking up one win in five matches.

Farmington graduated a trio of stars in Jade Roth, Jelena Gray and Grace Duncan, but the Knights return plenty of experience.

Baker says there are five seniors on the roster.

Since 2010, Farmington has won 10 district titles. Baker says it’s good to have goals that look toward the end of the season.

Baker was asked if anyone in particular has had a strong start to the season.

Farmington will travel to Festus to take on the Tigers on Thursday night.
