(FARMINGTON) – It was a good weekend for the Farmington Knights boys wrestling team as they captured the Class 3 District 1 championship on Friday and Saturday. Nine boys wrestlers finished in the top four in their respective weight classes and will move on to compete in the state tournament in Columbia starting Thursday. Knights coach John Krause said his boys put together a great overall performance.

Austin Wadlow and Dalton Berg both took individual district titles for the Knights. Krause said he was also impressed by some of the younger players that punched their tickets to the state meet.

With the Knights having a representative in nine of the 14 weight classes, Krause said he knows his team has a good opportunity to place as one of the top teams in the state.

In addition to the nine boys wrestlers, Farmington’s Claire Wampler will also head to Columbia to compete in the first-ever MSHSAA girls wrestling championships. Below is a full list of Farmington wrestlers competing in the state tournament.
