Farmington’s Tycen Gray Making an Impact For Missouri Western Football

(Farmington) Farmington multisport standout Tycen Gray picked football to continue his playing days following his graduation in 2019. However after a redshirt year and a lost season due to COVID, it wasn’t until his third season before he found himself on the field at Missouri Western in St. Joseph. While is was difficult being patient, Gray says it worked out for the best for him…

Still listed as a freshman last year Gray was third on the team with 20 receptions for the Griffons and fourth with for 237 yards receiving. His numbers nearly matched some of those for all conference tight ends in the MIAA. He says that Missouri Western has a tight end friendly offense…

He enjoys the different roles he gets to play as a tight end; sometimes a receiver, sometimes a blocker on the line, sometimes a fullback or slot…

Even though he’ll still only be a sophomore athletically, Gray will earn his undergraduate degree this coming spring…

The first game for the Missouri Western and Tycen Gray will be September 1st against Central Oklahoma.
