(STE. GENEVIEVE) In a dominant effort, the Valle Catholic Warriors defeated the West County Bulldogs 70-32 Tuesday night to win a share of the MAAA small-school regular-season championship. That dominance was shown early on, when Ryan Grein capped a 7-0 run with the Play of The Game.

Valle never slowed down, opening up a 25-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and taking a 43-21 lead at the half. The Warriors were paced by 25 points from Grein, as well as 11 points from sophomore guard Carter Hoog. Valle head coach Tyler Search says he’s proud and satisfied with the resulting win and conference title.

With that victory, the Warriors are now 11-9. Dake McRaven led the Bulldogs with 11 points as West County fell to 10-8. While Valle takes on Perryville Wednesday night in a make-up of the third-place game from the Chester Invitational, West County is next in action Friday night as they visit Central. MAAA Boys Small School Title is shared between Valle Catholic, West County, and Arcadia Valley after the Tigers defeated the Bismarck Indians 82-49.
