Fatal Accident in Crawford County

A 50-year-old man from Blytheville, Arkansas was killed in a one-vehicle accident yesterday in Crawford County. The Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-44 at the 201-mile marker. James Wiening drove his 2019 Buick Encore off of the left side of the road and struck a cable barrier. His vehicle continued to strike a sign, struck the crossover, went airborne and stopped at the median. Wiening was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:41 on Tuesday evening. Kathleen Miller, a 68-year-old female passenger from Harrison, Arkansas, is in serious condition after the accident. Miller was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
