FEB 21, 2017 #4 STEELVILLE KNOCKS OFF #1 GRANDVIEW IN C3D3 GBB SEMIS (Audio)

The Class 3, District 3 semifinals in girl’s basketball are in the books as 4th seed Steelville upended the top seed Grandview 41 to 37 Tuesday night on J-98. The game was close throughout as neither team lead each other more than a few points until the second half when Steelville was able to go on a 13 to 6 run and take their biggest lead of the night at the end of the third quarter with a 34 to 23 score…

+++Greg Armbruster with the call on Regional Radio. Lady Cardinals coach Seth Collins said his squad’s applied pressure changed the game dynamic.

+++Steelville was led in scoring by Hannah Cottrell with 19 points followed by Faith Bair and Abby Booker who tied with 6 points a piece. Grandview’s top scorers were Macy Ketcherside with 16 points and Kirstin Sparks who had 10.

+++With the win Steelville improves to 20-7 on the season while Grandview ends theirs at 22-4.
