Festus 253 Defeats Rock Memorial 13-3 for District 13 Championship

(STE. GENEVIEVE) Festus American Legion Post 253 fell behind 3-0 to Rock Memorial Friday night but exploded for ten runs in the third inning and were able to add three more in the fourth to beat Rock 13-3 and win the District 13 Tournament. The game was broadcast from Yanks Field in Ste. Genevieve on KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com.
The winning pitcher for Festus was Dylan Black and Mikey Steele took the loss for 283. Despite 283’s loss they will still play in the Zone tournament which begins Monday in Ste. Genevieve.
Rock Memorial manager Danny Sigman says getting an early lead was a top priority for the team.
Festus 253 manager Zac Bone says his team typically begins slow.
According to Bone, the team will begin preparing for their first game in the Zone Tournament.
Meanwhile, Rock will open the tournament against the District 10 Wildcard Team on Monday at 5pm. The winner of that game will play Festus on Tuesday at 5pm.
