Festus 253 flies by Rock Memorial on KJFF

(Hillsboro) Festus Post 253 finished off the American Legion baseball season in style with an impressive 10-0 win over Rock Memorial Wednesday night on KJFF.

An unexpected source started the offensive outburst for 253 in the second inning.

But Festus was far from done.

253 added 4 more runs in the third inning, and that was all the cushion pitcher Hunter Bassin would need.

Bassin allowed just one hit and one walk in 5 scoreless innings, adding 5 strikeouts as Festus got the win in 5 innings to improve to 17-6.

While the win streak is extended to 10 games for 253, Rock Memorial has a 5-game win streak snapped and falls to 13-10.
