(Festus, Mo.) One of the hardest players to guard in all of Jefferson County basketball over the last 4 years was Festus guard Abby Rickermann. This season, she was good enough to again make the Regional Radio Dream Team, pouring in over 15 points a game. Rickermann says scoring was one of the goals for her senior season, but she had bigger goals for her team as a whole.

Rickermann was named JCAA Small School Division Player of the Year for the third straight season, but she wasn’t just a scorer. Rickermann averaged almost 4.4 steals per game, and she says she cares a lot about her play on defense.

With her career in the books and many accolades in tow, Rickermann says there’s plenty of people to thank for helping her along the way.

Rickermann will be playing softball next year at Southeast Missouri State University. To hear the full interview with Abby Rickermann, click play below.
