Festus’ Allen named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

A rising girls’ basketball star from Jefferson County is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.
Festus Tigers point guard Josie Allen almost single-handedly carried her team’s offense to 2 wins last week.
The sophomore piled up 51 points, 15 rebounds and 9 steals in victories against Seckman and Hillsboro.
Tigers head coach Steve McFarland says Allen isn’t just a scorer, but she shrugs off her 5-foot-5 stature and makes plays all over the floor.
Allen leads the Tigers in points, rebounds and assists and has helped Festus win three straight after a 1-5 start to the season.
As Athlete of the Week, Allen receives a T-shirt, a certificate, and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
