Festus Baseball Hosts Windsor with District Tournament Around the Corner

(FESTUS) High school baseball returns to KJFF today with a Class 4 District 2 first round preview as (13-7) Festus meet up with (5-15) Windsor at West City Park in Festus. The Owls are led by Jeff Young and have lost four straight after their 4-1 defeat to Pacific yesterday. Nate Browning, Carter Schmutzler and Justin Van Etten are all tied for the team lead in RBI’s with 9.

Festus is led by Jeff Montgomery and have enjoyed success most of the year, but have dropped back-to-back games against Oakville and Cape Notre Dame. Coach Montgomery shares his thoughts on Windsor and looks to the week ahead before districts on Saturday.

 
Eddie Martin leads the Tigers with a .525 batting average and Jake Leitner leads the team with 24 RBI’s. First pitch for Windsor and Festus is scheduled for 4:30 today with pregame beginning at 4:15 on AM 1400 KJFF and streaming here.
