Festus baseball leaning on younger players when season begins
March 17, 2020 2:35PM CDT

If a high school baseball season comes to pass in 2020, the Festus Tigers will be trying to take a young team and build for even future years.
Festus went 6-16 in 2019 but won three of their 4 games in the JCAA Large School Division.
Tigers head coach Jeff Montgomery says the experience many of his players gained in ’19 will pay off when his team returns to the diamond.
Only 1 returning player had a batting average above .300 last season for Tigers.
Montgomery says they need to put in the work to be more successful at the plate, starting with the top of the batting order.
Festus was scheduled to begin its season March 21st in the Parkway Tournament.
The Tigers will not be playing until at least April 6th.
