Festus Beats Clayton 10-0 on Nate Moore No-Hitter
(FESTUS)    The Festus Tigers baseball team is heading to the Class 5 Final Four following their 10-0, Nate Moore no-hitter win Saturday over the Clayton Greyhounds.  The game was broadcast on KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com
The Tigers were able to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning and they tacked on another run in the third to make it 2-zip.
The Festus bats came alive in the 4th and the fifth innings when they scored three times in each frame.
Hayden Bates put he Tigers up by ten runs in the 6th with a two run homer over the left field fence.   Bates said he was looking for the pitch.

Three outs later, Festus starting pitcher Nate Moore sealed the deal by getting Dylan Rossini to flyout to left and Moore struck out the next two batters to secure the no-hitter and shutout.
On the day, Moore walked one, hit a batter, struck out six and there were two errors behind him that allowed batters to reach base.  But after both errors, the Tiger’s defense was able to erase the runners on double plays.
Festus winning pitcher Nate Moore said he felt good on the mound.

Clayton starting pitcher Tommy Filarski pitched four innings before coming out of the game with the Tigers up 5-0.  Filarski walked three, hit three and struck out  two.  Relievers that followed Filarski were Adam Gallegos and Henry Upshaw.  Combined, the relievers allowed five hits and five runs.
Tigers head coach Jeff Montgomery says the team took care of business.

The Greyhounds end their season at 14-17.
The Tigers are 25-8, they are scheduled to play Friday morning at 10 against Fort Zumwalt South. The other semi-final teams are St. Francis Borgia and Webb City.  The third place game will be played Saturday morning at 10 with the championship game set for 1pm.
