Festus called to an apartment fire on Sunday

(Festus) The Festus Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Westwood South Drive early Sunday morning. Fire Chief Kevin Creamer says the call came in around 5:30 that morning.

Chief Creamer says they were called back to the scene a short time later.

There were no injuries reported. Several neighboring agencies assisted Festus while on the call.

The Crystal City fire department was called to an apartment fire on Missouri Avenue Tuesday afternoon. The fire took place on the third floor of the Autumn Ridge apartment complex. Fire crews took care of the small fire which was contained to one unit in a little over an hour. No people were injured, but a dog was killed in the fire. The cause was determined to be electrical. Both the Herculaneum and Festus fire departments provided assistance.
