(FESTUS) The Festus boys cross country team is off on the right foot in 2019 as Mo-Mile-Split has put them 1st in its Class 3 preseason rankings.

Even though the boys lost four-time All-State runner and state champion Max McDaniel along with two-time All-State runner Alec Whitener, Bryant Wright likes what he has coming back.

Besides the seniors, Coach Wright has a few guys in mind that folks in Jefferson County should keep their eye on.

The Festus girls cross country team finished 2nd at state last year and are ranked 3rd in the preseason by Mo-Mile-Split going into 2019.

Bryant Wright addresses what he believes will be the difference between another 2nd place finish and a state title this year.

Coach Wright mentioned Allison Faerber as the top runner for the team after being All-State last season as a freshman. Coach Wright expects great things from her again and he’s also got some others in mind to have a solid year.

The 2019 Festus cross country season gets underway on Saturday, September 7th in the Tim Nixon Invitational.
