Festus Doctor on his thoughts about the COVID-19 Vaccine

(Jefferson County) How many are planning to get the Covid-19 vaccine?

There are many that have and there are those that are concerned about the side effects or question its effectiveness.

Dr. Danish Jabbar is with Midwest Medical Practitioners in Festus. He says the vaccine is safe and is a wonder of today’s medical science.

Dr. Jabbar further explains what the vaccine does.

Dr. Jabbar says both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are around 95 percent effective and the current vaccines are effective against the different strains that have surfaced in recent weeks.

Dr. Jabbar has received the first dose of the vaccine and has had no side effects.

Currently, the state of Missouri remains in Phase 1B Tier 2 which includes first responders and those 65 and older, and those with serious health problems.

At Thursday’s meeting, the JCHD’s board of trustees voted to extend the joint mask order along with the Jefferson County Council but also made no changes besides the extension.

The mask order has been extended until February 25th.
