Festus faces Windsor in critical conference baseball on KJFF

(Festus) A crucial conference series starts when the Windsor Owls visit the Festus Tigers on Jefferson County Baseball Tuesday on KJFF.

After using a late season-push to claim the Class 5 District 1 championship last year, Festus is cruising to start 2022.

Behind junior pitcher Nate Moore’s 0.82 earned-run average and 9 home runs from the lineup, the Tigers have won 4 straight to begin the season 11-4.

But head coach Jeff Montgomery knows this showdown in the JCAA Large-School Division is the toughest test his team has yet to face.

Windsor enters conference play with an 8-4 overall record.

Juniors Clay Scott, Max Hartmann and Austin Happel are powering a Owls offense that has 8 players with at least 8 runs batted in already this season.

First place early in the league season is on the line as the Windsor Owls take on the Festus Tigers.

Coverage of Jefferson County Baseball begins with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show Tuesday afternoon at 4:15 on AM 1400 KJFF.
