Festus Fire Chief on fireworks safety and awareness

(Festus) Many area residents may be setting off fireworks on their own over the next few days. Festus Fire Chief Jeff Broombaugh says the combination of the dry and hot weather can always be a concern for his department and other fire agencies.
In the City of Festus, fireworks are allowed to be discharged tomorrow from 10 AM until 10 PM. Check with your local municipality to find allowed times to discharge fireworks. There are no restrictions for those living in unincorporated Jefferson County.
