Festus Fire Department looking forward to the future

(Festus) The Festus City Fire Department is moving forward under the leadership of Chief Jeff Broombaugh. The Chief was hired a few months ago, after a lengthy run at the Rock Community Fire Protection District until retiring last year. Festus brought him in to become its chief back in November. Chief Broombaugh says the biggest challenge for the department has been keeping up the growth.

Chief Broombaugh says they have added some new pieces of equipment…with a big piece still to come.

The new fire truck was ordered in 2021 and should be arriving sometime in June. The truck will also include details honoring former Fire Chief Keven Cremer, who passed away in 2022.
