Festus gives employees a one-time bonus for cost of living expenses

(Festus) Prices on virtually everything have been increasing over the past two years as inflation continues and gas prices are very slowly dropping after reaching all-time highs. The City of Festus has recognized the cost of living going up, and this week, the city council voted in favor of a one-time raise for their employees to help out. That’s according to City Administrator Greg Camp.

Festus employees that work full time received 3-thousand dollars, while part-time workers received 15-hundred dollars, and qualified volunteers were able to get five-hundred dollars. Camp says there is likely to be a cost of living increase for all employees in the next budget which will go into effect in October.
