Festus High School Student Arrested for Allegedly Having Weapons on Campus

A Festus High School Student was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly having weapons on the school campus.
Kevin Pope is the Coordinator of Communications at the Festus School District. He says administrators were made aware of the situation around 7:45 am.
In a press release sent from the school district to parents and media it states “The student’s quick reporting of the matter to school officials allowed for an immediate response. Students are always encouraged to report any concerns to administrators. Student and staff safety will always remain a priority.”
