Festus hires three full-time firefighters

(Festus) The Festus Fire Department has hired three additional full-time firefighters. The three hires will allow the department to have two full time and one part-time firefighter on for all three shifts. Fire Chief Kevin Cremer says all three were working part-time for the department already, so the transition will be rather easy.

The hiring of the additional firefighters was made possible after Festus voters approved Proposition Festus Public Safety back in August. The sales tax increase began to go into effect the first of the year.
