Festus lights up nets in boys’ hoops win over Farmington

(Festus) The Festus Tigers put together one of their best performances of the season and rolled past the Farmington Knights 81-53 Tuesday night on J98.

Farmington put together a 9-0 run after trailing 15-5 early.

But after that, it was all Festus.

The Tigers rode great 3-point shooting from senior guard Cole Rickermann.

Rickermann finished with 21 points.

But junior point guard Arhmad Branch was equally impressive.

Branch scored a game-high 22 and joined Rickermann as an Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

Almost exactly one year after the Knights beat the Tigers 82-54, Festus turned the tables on a night where they lead by as much as 31.

Tigers head coach Jason Therrell says the response to the early Farmington run showed him that his team was ready.

Festus improves to 13-4, while Farmington falls to 9-7.

While the Tigers will next host the DeSoto Dragons, the Knights face an old rival when they visit the North County Raiders Friday night on J98.
