Festus Man Arrested and Charged After Robbery/Hostage Situation at Crystal City Business

(Crystal City) Crystal City Police responded to a local business Wednesday afternoon after they received a call of an ongoing burglary.

Crystal City Police Chief Chad Helms says the burglary was reported around 3:16pm at 1000 North Truman Boulevard which is the office of Shelter Insurance Agent Ricky Watson.

Upon further investigation, authorities found out the suspect had been in the business for at least a half-hour before police were called.

59-year-old Russel Dunn of Festus was charged on Wednesday by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with Robbery in the 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Making a Terrorist Threat (in the 2nd Degree).

Dunn is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
