Festus Man Killed in Auto Accident in Jefferson County

(Festus, Mo.) A man from Festus was killed in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place on Bailey School Road, east of Pullman Road, when a Chevrolet Impala driven by 44-year-old Russel McKenzie failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

McKenzie was pronounced dead at the scene by the Joachim Plattin Ambulance District.
