Festus mourns the loss of Chief Cremer

(Festus) The City of Festus was able to work through their scheduled city council meeting on Monday night, on the heels of the news of Fire Chief Kevin Cremer passing away earlier that day. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says the news is very tough to take.

Camp says the Jefferson R-7 Fire Protection District is helping out at the firehouse, and the council meeting was difficult to get through.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge. Burial in the Shephard Hills Cemetery in Barnhart.

Visitation for Chief Kevin Cremer will be Monday evening from 3 until 8 with a uniformed member walk-through that will take place at 7 pm on Monday evening at Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge with an additional visitation Tuesday morning from 9 until 10.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
