Festus, Northwest softball set to slug it out on KJFF

(Cedar Hill) High school softball is back on KJFF as the Festus Tigers head north to face the Northwest Lions Wednesday.

Northwest had one of its best seasons ever in 2019, winning 26 games and finishing 4th in the state in Class 4.

But, while the Lions bring back most of that same talent, new head coach Andrew Keating says they can’t just immediately set their sights on a return to Springfield.

Festus went 13-16 last season but put up some big numbers on offense behind Morgan Green.

Tigers head coach Jeff Montgomery says the senior has turned herself into a star at the plate.

Northwest has already started the new season 2020, while this will serve as Festus’ season opener after Tuesday’s game against Farmington was rained out.
