Festus passes ordinance concerning public events during pandemic

(Festus) The Festus City Council has passed an ordinance concerning public events with the continued Covid-19 pandemic. City Administrator Greg Camp says the organization or business owner wanting to hold an event will have to have a safety plan in place.

Camp says the ordinance contains a few different ideas and aspects in terms of social distancing and more.

The City of Festus decided to drawn up this ordinance after Four Brothers Mead held their grand opening Mead on Main, A Viking Festival event two weeks ago. The event did bring in a large crowd and for the most part, the public was able to keep themselves spaced from one another. This ordinance will only be active during a pandemic.
