Festus PD Hit Hard with COVID-19

(Festus) Police officers and dispatchers in the City of Festus have been putting in extra time after a number of officers and a couple of dispatchers are out on leave with either COVID-19 or personal injury.

Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis says they are battling through the shortage in staff.

Chief Lewis says even with the department being down on officers per shift doesn’t mean the number of calls have gone down.

According to Chief Lewis 6 police officers and 2 dispatchers are out on leave.
