(Festus) For the past several years, the Festus Police Department has been dealing with coverage problems with their dispatching services. A few “dead zones” in which radio coverage was pretty much nonexistent was a big concern. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says the city has found a way to get help from Jeffco 911 without having to contract with them for dispatching services.

Camp says the negotiations took some time, but an agreement has been named.

Improving police dispatching services was one the things promised by the city after the passage of Proposition Public Safety a few years ago.
