Head coach Zac Bone says, as opposed to its normal dominant start, 253 is still trying to find its footing.
The Potosi Pirates have started the 2020 summer seasons 6-2.
Head coach Jacob Swain says the lineup is still trying get settled, meaning pitching needs to remain a strength.
Originally scheduled as a doubleheader, there will be just one game Thursday.
As American Legion opponents last year, Festus won both games against Potosi.
