Festus R-6 Board Hires next Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

(Festus) The next Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning in the Festus R-6 School District has been selected.

Dr. Lucas McKinnis, who is currently the Superintendent of the Newtown-Harris R-3 School District in Newtown, Mo, will take over the assistant superintendent role on July 1st.

Dr. McKinnis says he is excited to become a part of the Festus R-6 community.

Festus R-6 Communications Director Kevin Pope says Dr. McKinnis is no stranger to the eastern part of the state.

Dr. McKinnis and his wife, Kristin, have been married for 15 years and they have three daughters who will become Festus Tigers in the fall.
