Festus R-6 School District Superintendent Announces Retirement

(Festus) In a special meeting held on Tuesday night, the Festus R-6 Board of Education accepted a retirement letter from current Superintendent Dr. Link Luttrell.

Dr. Luttrell says his departure will be bitter sweet.

Dr. Luttrell has been with the Festus School District for 14 years, five as Assistant superintendent and the last nine as Superintendent. He is only the fifth person to ever serve as Superintendent during the past 77 years in the district.

Dr. Luttrell’s retirement will become effective following June 30th. He plans on retiring altogether from the Missouri Public Education system and will move to the State of Kansas to become Superintendent of the Spring Hill USD 230 School District.

Spring Hill is located approximately 35 minutes southwest of Kansas City, MO.

The Festus R-6 Board of Education will immediately begin a search for the next Superintendent of the district.
