(Festus) Festus Tigers quarterback Cole Rickermann made the most impressive leaps and bounds you could ask of a signal-caller.
The junior went from being the caretaker of a triple option attack to the maestro of a spread symphony and a member of the Regional Radio football Dream Team.
But despite 10 wins, district and conference championships and almost 38 points per game, Rickermann says the first season of new head coach A.J. Ofodile’s offense wasn’t always a walk in the park.
And once Rickermann had the hang of the spread, he turned into a star gunslinger, passing for over 2,300 yards and 29 touchdowns.
But he says having the team success he did with teammates he loves made it extra sweet.
And Rickermann wants to make it clear that his success is a direct result of his coaches and teammates.
Rickermann completed 54 percent of his passes this season and threw TDs to 7 different receivers as Festus won its first outright conference championships since 2014 and first district title since 2011.
