Festus’ Rickermann scorches as shooter in hoops Dream Team season

(Festus) Festus Tigers senior Cole Rickermann ended his high school basketball career on quite a high note.

After earning the honor twice in football, Rickermann now joins the Regional Radio Dream Team for hoops.

Rickermann was a scoring sensation, leading Festus by averaging better than 15 points per game during a season when he was named the JCAA Large-School Player of the Year.

Rickermann says this honor is flattering, but it’s also validating.

In helping the Tigers win a conference championship and reach a district title game, Rickermann was a shooting star.

He knocked down better than 50 percent of his shots and hitting 38% of his 3-point field goals.

Rickermann says becoming a more consistent shooter is the product of getting the reps in.

And Rickermann is quick to thank the people who have guided him on his journey.

Rickermann will continue his football career next fall at Lincoln University.
