Festus saw business climbing prior to pandemic

(Festus, Crystal City) The City of Festus was seeing a big increase in commerce prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. The revitalization of Festus Main Street certainly had much to do with that. City Administrator Greg Camp says the numbers were trending up significantly in the last few years.

Most if not all of the locally owned businesses have been back open since May. Sales tax numbers in both Festus and Crystal City have been steady over the past few months, with some months showing small increases and other months have been similar to what they were a year ago.
